A charming collection of the first three installments in the brilliantly funny murder mystery series by comedian and writer Alasdair Beckett-King that BBC Radio called “Knives Out meets Poirot—but for children!”
Bonnie Montgomery is the world’s greatest detective. Not that anyone—other than Grampa Banks—has heard of her. But they will have heard of Montgomery Bonbon, the gentleman detective with the bristly mustache, fashionable beret, and accent that’s hard to place. Montgomery Bonbon is responsible for solving many high-stakes crimes, including unmasking the Emmental Bandit, restoring the Rusakova diamonds to their rightful owner, and busting an international owl-smuggling ring, resulting in the arrest of over twelve owls. Don’t look too carefully, however—from certain angles, Montgomery Bonbon looks suspiciously like a ten-year-old girl . . .
Murder at the Museum: Montgomery Bonbon is needed on a case close to home, at the Hornville Museum in Bonnie’s hometown of Widdlington, where a mysterious death has occurred. Brimming with charm and wit, this debut offering is a delightful modern take on the classic whodunit.
Death at the Lighthouse: Bonnie Montgomery is finally getting a vacation from cracking cases as her alter ego, Montgomery Bonbon. But something terribly fishy happens the moment she and Grampa Banks arrive on Odde Island—and it’s not just the smell of the harbor. There’s been a mysterious death at the lighthouse, and what everyone assumed was an accident is setting Bonbon’s mustache all aquiver: something is Highly Suspicious. When a second death takes place, Bonnie is sure the two are connected. But can she solve this case alone, or will she need double the detectives to solve double the murders?
Mystery at the Manor: Bonnie Montgomery (as her case-cracking alter ego Montgomery Bonbon) has been tasked with delivering a priceless diamond to Adderstone Manor, the home of retired master thief Fergus Croke. The plot thickens faster than a good roux when Croke is found dead hours later, and every one of his four protégés is suspected of the dirty deed. But when everyone is a crook, how does even the great Bonbon know where to begin? With the help of Grampa Banks and an undercover best friend, it’s not long before Bonbon uncovers hidden identities, motives a-many, and a rather surprising hedge maze full of monkeys. But can they catch the killer before it’s too late?
