Dr Bhaswati Bhattacharya, a practicing physician-scientist, has spent over 20 years specializing in integrating “good medicine” with Ayurveda. Based out of New York, but rooted in India, she serves as clinical assistant professor in the department of medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, was a senior Fulbright scholar in medicine in India where she researched ancient Ayurveda protocols to enhance immunity, pursued a mid-career PhD in Rasa Shastra at Banaras Hindu University, and served as Fulbright Specialist in public health/integrative medicine & on NIH committees evaluating unconventional medicines. She holds an MD in medicine (Rush University), PhD in pharmacology (Columbia University) and Ayurveda (Banaras Hindu University) and an MPH in international health (Harvard). A documentary film featuring her work, Healers: Journey into Ayurveda is shown on The Discovery Channel. She has often appeared in different media, including The Martha Stewart Show, The Today Show, and 60 Minutes. Her first book, Everyday Ayurveda published in 2015 by Penguin Random House, was a bestseller in India. It gained traction mostly through word-of-mouth and goes in for a reprint every year.
