Elliot Willensky was an architect, vice chairman of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, borough historian of Brooklyn, and author of When Brooklyn Was the World: 1920-1957. He died in 1990. Norval White is an architect, educator, and author of The Architecture Book and New York: A Physical History. He lives in Connecticut and New York City.
