Discussion Questions:

1.   Puppyhood ain’t easy. Were you surprised to learn that dog pro Chelsea was reluctant to adopt a puppy? Do you agree that the potty training/teething/manners training stages are a test of your sanity, or are you 100% Team Puppy?

2.   Chelsea claims that she has nothing in common with Andrew. Do you think they’re more similar than they realize, or is this a case of opposites attract?

3.   There’s quite a bit of rescuing going on in Unleashed Holiday, both canine and human. How many instances can you come up with?

4.   How does Chelsea’s reinvented Thanksgiving change her relationship with Andrew?

5.   The building means more to Chelsea and Andrew than just real estate. Why do you think that’s the case?

6.   How does Chelsea’s relationship with Andrew’s mom impact her perception of him? Do you think the story would’ve turned out differently if
Chelsea hadn’t worked with the goats?

7.   Unleashed Holiday includes Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, each with traditions both old and new. If you could take part in one of the holiday experiences from the book (like the Howl-o-Ween party, or the Fall Festival) which would it be and why?

8.   Both Chelsea and Andrew have complicated family issues to work through, and both have uncomfortable run-ins with family members as they try to process those issues. Have you ever had a family gathering go off the rails because of old drama?

9.   Which dog from the story felt the most like your own pet; brilliant and incorrigible Edith the Boston Terrier puppy, sweet and loving mixed breed senior Birdie, or nonstop goofball Dude the deaf boxer?

10. Bonus question: Did you pick up on any of the Easter eggs that reference Victoria’s prior books?
