After World War II, the late Floyd Radike returned to his home in Michigan where he was a career educator, teaching in Detroit. In 1949 he rejoined the Michigan National Guard (he originally enlisted in 1933) ultimately rising to the rank of brigadier general. He retired in 1975. Across the Dark Islands is his only book.
