Charlotte Gordon’s Romantic Outlaws: The Lives of Mary Wollstonecraft and Mary Shelley, won the National Book Critics Circle Award. Other books include Mistress Bradstreet: The Untold Story of America’s First Poet, and Mary Shelley: A Very Short Introduction. The McCoy Endowed Distinguished Scholar and Professor of Humanities at Endicott College, she is the recipient of a Public Scholar Award from the National Endowment for the Humanities. She lives in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
