Always Meet the Family

When a woman realizes that her boyfriend has been hiding his family’s connections to a decade-old murder, suspicions turn into obsession in this darkly comedic thriller about a suffocating small town where relationships are hardly what they seem.

Mia won’t accept her boyfriend’s marriage proposal before meeting his family; there must be a sinister reason he’s keeping them from her. When the perfect opportunity arrives in the form of Chris’s sister’s wedding, Mia issues an ultimatum: take her or they’re done.

Her concerns are validated when, soon after arriving in his desolate hometown, Mia learns of a local teenager murdered there a decade ago—his sister Lynn’s best friend, who also happened to be dating their brother, Logan. The murder was solved, the killer was caught, so why didn’t Chris want her to know? And how could Mia possibly let this go?

As she starts asking questions, a new dead body surfaces, and this time Mia herself is implicated. Juggling the grisly crimes of the past and the present, Mia is going to have to find out the truth…but in an insular community like this, who can she trust? The tighter the bonds, the deeper the cracks, and with every murky connection Mia uncovers, she weasels herself further inside. In a town full of peculiar people with dark secrets, it’s only a matter of time before the questions that brought her here become the least of her problems.
