There’s a cat burglar at large—and it’s an actual cat! When strange thefts hit a no-pets-allowed boarding school, clever cats must uncover the culprit.
A fast-paced chapter book whodunnit for ages 7 to 11, featuring a cast of cats, puzzling clues, and surprising motives to keep readers guessing.
Foley House doesn’t allow pets, but Rusty, a newly adopted kitten, soon discovers that he is not the only cat in the five-unit apartment building on the campus of Stanton Academy. Four other cats live there with their human caregivers and roam freely, congregating in an attic play space filled with climbing structures . . . and possibly a ghost.
Then certain items begin to go missing: treats, dinners, cat toys. Next a bird is killed, a jackknife is stolen, and property is vandalized.
Who is the cat burglar, and what are they after?
With echoes of The Westing Game and a fanciful, feline-friendly narrator, this chapter-book animal mystery will keep readers guessing until the end—and remind them that thieves sometimes steal for very good reasons, indeed.
Award-winning author Elaine Dimopoulos is back with this fast-paced whodunnit starring a group of clever cats unraveling a string of mysterious thefts.
