Rita Guibert nació en Buenos Aires el 5 de diciembre, 1916 y estudió en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, donde obtuvo una licenciatura en Ciencias, con especialidad en Química. En Nueva York, donde vivió desde 1957 hasta su muerte el 5 de diciembre, 2007 trabajó ampliamente en el campo editorial. Sus artículos fueron publicados en Paris Review, Intellectual Digest, Review 72, Vista Magazine, Revista Iberoamerica, publicada por la Universidad de Pittsburgh, y en Life en Español, para la cual fue periodista por cinco años. En televisión fue la creadora y entrevistadora de Latin America: The Restless Colossus, una serie de cinco programas de 30 minutos sobre la cultura latinoamericana. También fue editora, traductora, consultora, investigadora, catedrática y panelista.

Rita Guibert was born in Buenos Aires December 5, 1916 and studied at the University of Buenos Aires, from which she received a B.S. in chemistry. In New York, where she lived from 1957 until her death December 5, 2007, she worked extensively in the magazine field. Her articles have appeared in the Paris Review, Intellectual Digest, Review 72, Vista Magazine, Revista Iberoamerica, published at the University of Pittsburgh, and the Spanish edition of Life, for which she was a reporter for five years. In television she was the originator and on camera interviewer of Latin America: The Restless Colossus, a series of 57 28-minute programs produced by CBS in association with Bergen Community College. In radio she was the producer of Latin American World, a series of five, 30-minute programs on Latin American culture. She was also an editor, translator, consultant, researcher, guest lecturer and panelist.
