Silvana Paternostro is a Colombian-born journalist and senior fellow at the World Policy Institute. Her articles and features have appeared in The Washington Post, The Miami Herald, The Daily News, Details, Spin, and The Paris Review. She was selected in 1996 by Gabriel Garcia Marquez to participate in his writers workshop held in Cartagena, Colombia. In 1997, she was awarded the Center for Documentary Studies Dorothea Lange-Paul Taylor Prize for her journalism on Cuba. She lives in New York City.
