Sostenes B. Lima, LCSW, is a licensed therapist who specializes in working with trauma survivors. He holds a master’s degree in advanced clinical social work from Columbia University and a bachelor of science in psychology from Grand Canyon University. Sostenes has extensive training in psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy and incorporates trauma-focused therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic-based therapies into his practice. His integrative approach to therapy is tailored to meet each person’s needs in a warm, inviting, safe space where they can connect, process, and heal. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Sostenes immigrated to Miami, Florida, at the age of eight. As a mixed-race individual of Afro-Brazilian, Indigenous Brazilian, and Portuguese descent, he embodies a rich tapestry of cultural influences and maintains a profound appreciation for the diversity of human experiences. Sostenes is also an artist, father, and partner who deeply respects the intricate paths people navigate in their healing journeys.
