A P
Raised in Texas, August Ponthier is an alt-pop country singer-songwriter and multimedia artist who released their debut album, Everywhere Isn’t Texas, in February 2026. Praised by Brandi Carlile as “the best damn gay country singer there is,” and by Sir Elton John as “a pioneering queer country star,” Ponthier released three EPs via Interscope Records, building a devoted following for their genre-bending music and rich world-building. They have toured with Brandi Carlile, Jack Antonoff, Lord Huron, Hayley Kiyoko, Maren Morris, The Japanese House, and more. This is their debut novel.
