Raymond Sarlot was the owner of the Chateau Marmont from 1975 to 1991. He is the coauthor, with Fred E. Basten, of Life at the Marmont: The Inside Story of Hollywood’s Legendary Hotel of the Stars. He lives in Los Angeles.
