Lyric's Favorite Season

“Lyons and Johnson’s bright and breezy picture book invites readers to explore the seasons. . . . Images include captivating swirls of colors and movement, and action occurs in every layer of each frame. . . . An effective introduction to the seasons for children. . . . An enticing snapshot of seasonal changes and annual traditions.” —Kirkus Reviews

“First-person couplets lend a singsong feel to lines describing seasonal pleasures in Starling Lyons and Johnson’s beatific celebration. . . . Across scenes of the child narrator energetically enjoying nature, friends, and family, digitally finished jewel-tone paintings mix gouache, acrylic, and watercolor, incorporating silhouettes and layers. Pulsing with seasonal appreciations, it’s a lively calendrical montage.” —Publishers Weekly
