Lavender Jack Volume 2

“Created by writer and artist Dan Schkade alongside colorist Jenn Manley Lee, Lavender Jack tells the story of a masked vigilante, defending the poor and exposing the corrupt elite in the fictional early 20th century city-state of Gallery. On top of being a superhero comic, Schkade’s series is very much rooted in detective fiction, with some very central characters paying homage to Sherlock Holmes and the works of Agatha Christie.”—Charlotte Fierro (Heroes, villains, and detectives: a guide to Dan Schkade’s Lavender Jack, K Comics Beat)

“Lavender Jack is an amazing story that harkens back to classic media with its classy heroes, daring storylines, and dastardly villains but still feels fresh and new. The author took great care in the planning of this story, and it shows plainly—even on a first read-through—how one choice leads to consequences that impact the heroes in ways big and small… The art is gorgeous too with its bright colors, detailed scenery and costume design, and unique character silhouettes. The artists also use heavy black shadows quite effectively and have a knack for setting up dynamic and striking panels.”—Gillian Thomson (Lavender Jack by Dan Schkade – WebToon Review!, Comic Book Herald)

“One of the biggest draws is how layered it all is. Both Lavender Jack and Ferrier are complicated and fully fleshed out characters, which makes you more invested in the story from the beginning.”—Deanna Destito (A Year of Free Comics: Who is really the villain in LAVENDER JACK?, Comics Beat)
