“Gritty, propulsive, and deliciously pulpy. Richard Kadrey’s The Flesh King seized my attention on page one and did not release me until the final act. Written with such caustic wittiness and filled with an undeniably sinister atmosphere, this remarkable noir-horror-hybrid is a nasty delight.”
Eric LaRocca, author of Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke
“Nobody writes urban supernatural noir like Richard Kadrey! The Flesh King is wonderfully nasty business, with a hideous villain and a loveably grumpy and weird found family of hardboiled occult investigators and assassins-for-good. Mean streets, dark magic, grotesque murder…yes, please!”
—Christopher Golden, New York Times-bestselling author of The Night Birds and Road of Bones
“Fast, fun, and freaky! A delightfully fresh take on horror-noir with a beating heart of solid pulp and characters you’ll follow to the gates of hell. I love this series!”
Delilah S. Dawson
“Another glorious gruesome ride with Ford and Neuland, everyone’s favourite grim godfathers and Tilda, their more-than-able apprentice. Fast, furious and bloody. A novella with heart and other body parts.
Angela “A.G.” Slatter, award-winning author of The Cold House
“With clever banter and cinematic style, the latest installation in Kadrey’s The Discreet Eliminators series is a fun, satisfying, and refreshing noir romp!”
Kelsea Yu, Shirley Jackson Award-nominated author of Bound Feet and Demon Song
“An expertly woven story of gruesome murders, eldritch magic, and dark streets flowing with blood … Kadrey puts flesh on the bones of a terrific tale, with prose reminiscent of Lansdale at his finest, and characters King would be proud of.”
Tim Lebbon
“The Flesh King is like the second season of a great TV show. It deepens the world and expands the mythology. And most importantly, it gives us more of the twisty, turny, supernatural noir that we loved in The Pale House Devil. Bring on book 3!”
Shaun Hamill
