Day of the Dead

Flowers bloom, candles glow, and skeletons dance in this lively pop-up celebration of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).

Filled with color and movement, this pop-up book invites young readers into the joyful world of Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead, where families honour loved ones through dancing, music, food, flowers, and shared celebration.

Each page opens onto an animated paper scene that transforms the festival’s most vivid imagery into moments of surprise and discovery.  Decorated altars rise from the page, festive figures appear mid-dance, and nighttime gatherings glow with candlelight, creating spooky scenes that feel busy, playful, and alive.

Designed for repeated handling, the pop-ups encourage curious minds and hands, offering fun for children and adults alike, alongside the craft and visual ingenuity prized by collectors of three-dimensional interactive books.

• Six large colorful pop-up scenes convey the vibrancy of Day of the Dead.
• One scene is even more interactive, where readers can make the characters dance.
• Bold, humorous illustrations establish a strong sense of rhythm and motion.
• Rhyming text encourages reading aloud and repeat visits to the pop-ups.
• Created by master pop-up artists Dominique Ehrhard and Anne-Florence Lemasson

This festival of pop-up fun serves as an education for those young and old unfamiliar with the meaning and customs of Day of the Dead.
