Can Piper Corduroy crack the case when King Tut’s priceless tuba is stolen from the school library? Another hilarious whodunit in this quirky series from Noah Z. Jones, creator of the Disney animated series Fish Hooks.
Sixth-grader Piper Corduroy is a top-notch detective who doesn’t guess and is rarely surprised. When King Tut’s ancient tuba is stolen from the library, it’s a case for her Broom Room Detective Agency (in the broom closet at Nosedive Junior High)! To Piper and her partners, mystery-loving Fred Sassafras and Chim-Chim, a cat with a meatball-shaped head, everyone is a suspect. Is the culprit school prankster Belly Buttons? Mr. Hazard, the archaeologist-librarian? The smiley Season sisters, Summer and Spring? Or maybe even . . . a ghost? The clock is ticking: Mr. Moped, head of hall monitors, thinks Piper is a nosey wisenheimer and wants to solve the crime himself—and whichever sleuth fails to nab the crook first will get a day-tention! But this case is tricky. Not even Fred’s adorable baby bunny eyes, which make people putty in his hands, can uncover the clues. Piper finds herself a little afraid—and a little excited—at the thought of having something she’s never had before: a worthy adversary. Fun illustrations enhance this zany page-turner of a mystery.
