A delightful French cozy mystery set in the dazzling word of 19th-century Paris: an endearingly quirky young bookseller / part-time crime solver investigates a sinister death at the city’s greatest landmark.
The first in the bestselling Paris Bookshop Mysteries, perfect for fans of Boris Akunin and S.G. Maclean!
It’s a sunny weekend in Paris like no other. All those with money to spare are rushing to climb the brand-new Eiffel Tower: the glory of the 1889 Universal Exposition. Among them is Victor Legris: bookseller, amateur photographer, and owner of Paris’s beloved Elzevir Bookshop. When he and the rest of the crowd witness a woman suddenly collapse and die on the Tower’s second floor, Legris is certain her death was caused by something more ominous than a bee sting like the authorities claim.
Determined to figure out what really happened, he sets out on an investigation that takes him all across Paris, from the city’s art dealers and literary salons, to its newspaper offices, to the slums on the banks of the Seine. But when the deaths begin to multiply—all victims who were on the second floor that day—Legris finds himself in a race against time to catch the killer before it is too late.
Murder on the Eiffel Tower is the exciting first installment in a series of warm and cozy mysteries set in Belle Epoque Paris, starring a bookshop manager, Victor Legris, and his team of bookselling associates. Penned by sisters Liliane and Laurence Korb, who were booksellers on the banks of the Seine for many years, the Paris Bookshop Mysteries series has sold more than 800,000 copies in France and been translated into 8 languages.
