The Woman in Coach D

It’s been sixteen years since Jenny’s best friend, Susie Patterson, plunged into the icy waters of Hangman’s Cave, never to be seen again.

Since then, Jenny has spent every moment trying to come to terms with what happened – and trying to recover the memories she lost the night Susie died. Troubled by panic attacks, treated like a pariah and always certain people are whispering behind her back, Jenny has been a wreck. Whoever she was before – brave, fearless, bold – died with Susie too.

That is, until she sees Susie again, alive and well, getting off the same train as her at Manchester Piccadilly station. It shouldn’t be possible, and at first Jenny thinks her mind is playing tricks on her again. But then the letter arrives, containing pages from her old diary and a handwritten note.

‘Are you ready to play our game again?’
