Book 7
Saki Watanabe is growing up in a world 1000 years into the future, when people have developed powerful psychic abilities, and a supposedly utopian Earth plays host to a terrifying array of nonhuman, genetically engineered creatures. As Saki and her friends work to develop their telekinetic skills, they also uncover the guarded history of just how humanity metamorphosed into the New World in which they live.

Originally an award-winning novel by renowned sci-fi/fantasy author Yusuke Kishi, From the New World has been adapted for manga by Toru Oikawa. This grand tale of mankind’s destiny after obtaining superhuman gifts also conveys deep themes about the driving forces in life. In this final volume, Saki and her companion Satoru are on the run and humanity is truly on the brink.
Book 6
From the New World is originally set in a Japan a millennium from now. Five teens—Saki, Satoru, Maria, Mamoru, and Shun—have been born and raised in a tranquil town that can be described as a utopia overflowing with water and foliage. The world is ruled by people who have the “cursed power” or the “gods’ power” of telekinesis. After a certain incident, Saki and the others come to realize the true nature of their world. Before long, they learn everything, including the bloody history that brought humanity to this state. The five throw themselves into life-threatening adventure and fight to protect friends and a world on the brink of collapse.
Book 5
There’s a fox in the henhouse known as Kamisu 66-Acreage – a Fiend! Saki and her friends are now in a position where they cannot defend against their mass destruction. Those given their genetic composition and programming, even gods themselves run, but cannot hide.
Book 4
Now twenty-six, Saki and Satoru seem to be well-adjusted adults. While they’ve never forgotten the cruel fates of their childhood friends, reforming the town’s severe ways has been beyond them. Change has a way, however, of crashing in. And in this case, at a time when those within the rope are celebrating their summer festival, change is going to rain on them violently!
Book 3
Saki and friends finally learn many of the troubling secrets of their brave new world. Whether the harsh facts can be altered or not is another matter altogether.
Book 2
Pursued by foreign Morph Rats who do not fear humans as living deities, Saki and her friends have taken refuge with the odious creatures’ domestic cousins, the worshipful Robber Fly Colony. Despite the assurances of Squealer, the hive’s prolocutor, the young gods are in mortal danger—not least from their own brethren.
Book 1
Saki and her schoolmates enjoy what they consider normal lives in a peaceful provincial setting. Only their village cannot be of this era. Its customs differ from those of any known in modern day Japan. The landscape while familiar is also much more constrained than what modern day maps may exhibit.

So when 6 friends embark on a journey of mental and physical training, this fateful journey will lead them to a series of mind-shattering truths-for these characters and for us as readers.
