Chance Encounter Series

Book two in the dynamic Chance Encounter series, a high-velocity LitRPG adventure through a post-apocalyptic world.

Invaders on all sides. Earth’s weapons fail. There’s no safe harbor.

Chance has already crossed blades with the invading factions of the Hunters of Unconditional Immortality and lived. But survival isn’t victory. With all of humanity eyeing each other suspiciously, a truth is revealed that might finally unite the world: They aren’t the target, but a mere obstacle to the HUI’s ambitions in distant dimensions.

If there’s one thing people hate more than being attacked, it’s being ignored.

When Jacksonville goes dark, only at the last moment does anyone realize the Dyadic faction has abandoned all restraint. No negotiations. No prisoners. If the city falls, the continent won’t be fighting an invasion—it’ll be drowning under a tidal wave of Lemure. With his team too distant to help, Chance is forced to enter the barrier without backup.

With no one to watch him . . . there’s also no one to stop him. Luckily, Chance Encounter has a very simple rule for what his blade will shed.

Any blood but red.

He wasn’t chosen to be a hero. That’s not going to stop him. Leave everything to Chance.

Chance Encounter is a highly skilled operative with the kind of military clearance that makes problems disappear. But when invaders from another dimension rip open the sky and the universe selects its official heroes, he gets skipped. Chance is certain someone made a mistake, but with his pilot suddenly missing and his plane now spiraling toward the Earth, he has more important things to worry about. Chance next finds himself crash-landing on the wrong side of reality behind enemy lines, facing invaders gearing up to cut their way through the population.

As the only person left on Earth with the power to fight the endless hordes, Chance is thrust into an impossible role: hold the line until reinforcements arrive, or humanity collapses. Blending high-stakes tactical warfare with a unique gear-based magic system, Chance’s journey isn’t about being the chosen one: It’s about being the only one left—and choosing to fight anyway.
