KATE O’NEILL is a writer based in Burlington, Vermont, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her yearlong series about the addiction crisis in Vermont won multiple journalism awards, including first place in healthcare reporting from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia. She holds an MFA in fiction from the University of Virginia, where she was a Henry Hoyns Fellow, and has received fellowships from Aspen Words and MacDowell. We Grow Accustomed to the Dark is her first book.
