Christina Kahrl
Christina Kahrl is one of the founding five members of Baseball Prospectus, and is one of three who has been involved in the creation of all twelve editions of the annual. Beyond her regular “Transaction Analysis” column at BP.com (entering its twelfth year this spring), she’s written about baseball and football for Playboy, The New York Sun, Salon, Slate, SportsIllustrated.com, and ESPN.com, and contributed to Mind Game, The ESPN Pro Football Encyclopedia, and the forthcoming It Ain’t Over. She also published a few dozen cutting-edge books on almost every sport imaginable during her five years as Sports Acquisitions Editor at Brassey’s/Potomac Books, helping launch the careers of several of her contemporaries. A graduate of the University of Chicago with a Master’s degree from Loyola University (she went into the lucrative field of History for both), she now lives in the Washington, DC metro area with somebody else’s dog, and roots to this day for the team of her childhood, the Oakland A’s.
