Katy Mitchell is an author and crochet designer specialising in fun, colourful, and easy-to-make granny square designs. Her Instagram channel @kates.crochet.creations is one of the biggest social media platforms focusing exclusively on granny squares, with a rapidly growing follower count made up of fans of her themed granny-square collections. She has written granny square designs for Hobbycraft (as part of their annual Granny Square Crochet-a-long events) and Simply Crochet magazine. Her first book, The Granny Square Book, was published by DK in May 2025 and her second title, The Festive Granny Square Book, will be published in September 2026.
