About the Author
Jen Nessel is the Communications Coordinator at the Center for Constitutional Rights. She has responsibility for managing CCR’s press, media training spokespeople, and editing and placing opinion pieces. Prior to coming to the Center for Constitutional Rights in January 2004, she worked as a writer, editor and organizer. She served as the communications director of the Coalition for the Homeless. Her articles have appeared in publications including The New York Times, The Nation, The New Yorker, The Huffington Post, Newsday, The New York Daily News, Self Magazine, Lingua Franca, and Salon. She is the co-author with Lizzy Ratner of the satirical bookGoodnight Nanny-Cam. As an undergraduate, she was a founding trainer of the Grass Roots Organizing Workshops and ran a rape crisis center.
