J.M.S. Careless

A graduate of the University of Toronto and of Harvard, J.M.S. CARELESS (1919–2009) was twice the winner of the Governor General’s Award for Non-fiction. His other honours included the University of British Columbia Medal for Popular Biography and the Tyrrell Medal of the Royal Society of Canada. Dr. Careless was also professor of history at the University of Toronto.
