About the Author
Carl Burger (1888–1967) was an American artist and author of children’s books. He is best known for illustrating Sheila Burnford’s The Incredible Journey, as well as the Newbery Medal–winning novels Old Yeller and Little Rascal. Prior to publishing those works, Burger served as an art director for a variety of companies, including the American Red Cross.
