A Real Penguin’s “Internship” at Our Book Distribution Center

Earlier this year we had the pleasure of meeting actual penguins (!), and giving them the opportunity of a lifetime: an “internship” at our book distribution center in Westminster, MD. Watch the video below!

As part of our collaboration with The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Penguin Random House is making a charitable donation to the zoo’s conservation efforts to protect the habitats of African penguins. The species is endangered, and their population has declined by 90% since the turn of the 20th century. The Maryland Zoo maintains the largest colony of African penguins in North America, and breeds them at the recommendation of the AZA Species Survival Plan for African penguins. You can join in at
