Caught in a web of danger and desire . . .

Marilyn Bannon ventured into the wilds of the lush Amazon to claim her father’s rubber plantation. And while voyaging up the treacherous river, she met and became entranced with the exotic, charming, enigmatic Sebastian Rivera. As excitement with her new life consumed her, she found herself in the midst of a strange and troubling world, a world of opulence and leisure for some, and vile abuse and bondage for others. In the center of it all stood the Baron, who controlled the land and everyone on it and meant to have Marilyn for his own.
 
As the steaming, hot, verdant jungle seethed with yellow fever and the threat of slave revolt, Marilyn struggled to save the innocent from disease, brutality, and misery. And just as desperately, she tried to preserve her love in the jungle, where life was expendable and death had no meaning.
