Slave and Citizen

Frank Tannenbaum (1893-1969) was a sociologist specializing in criminology research. He is best known for his theory centralizing the “dramatization of evil,” that in defining criminal acts perceived as evil, all previous behavior falls under question. This concept remains a steadfast component of sociology and criminology study. Tannenbaum’s works include Crime and the Community, A Philosophy of Labor, and Slave and Citizen: The Classic Comparative Study of Race Relations in the Americas.
