Gentle Ben

Walt Morey (1907 – 1992) is the award-winning author of numerous books for children. His works include Gentle Ben, Kavik the Wolf Dog, Canyon Winter, Runaway Stallion, Run Far Run Fast, and Year of the Black Pony.

John Carl Schoenherr (July 5, 1935–April 8, 2010) was an American illustrator. He won the Caldecott Medal for US children’s book illustration. He was inducted into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame in 2015.
