The Boy Who Didn't Believe in Spring

Lucille Clifton is an award-winning poet who has written many acclaimed books for children and adults, such as Voices, Mercy, Blessing the Boats, and The Palm of My Heart. She was the former Laureate of Maryland. 

Brinton Turkle was born on August 15, 1915, in Alliance, Ohio. Growing up, Turkle enjoyed drawing, reading, music, and building. He went to the Carnegie Institute of Technology, now called Carnegie-Mellon University, and eventually became a popular writer and illustrator of children’s books. Turkle has illustrated more than 100 books.
