A Hippy-Hoppy Toad

Peggy Archer writes fiction, poetry, and nonfiction for children. A Hippy-Hoppy Toad won the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators Work-in-Progress award for picture-book text.    Peggy grew up in Gary, Indiana, with one sister and two brothers. She enjoyed writing as a child, but it was not until she had children of her own that she began to write with the thought of being published. A retired registered nurse, she lives with her husband in O’Fallon, Missouri, where she writes full-time. Anne Wilsdorf has illustrated over twenty books for children, including Pat Zietlow Miller’s beloved Sophie’s Squash which received four starred reviews, in addition to an Ezra Jack Keats New Writer Honor and a Charlotte Zotolow Honor. Anne also illustrated its sequel Sophie’s Squash Go to School, as well as Peggy Archer’s A Hippy-Hoppy Toad, Susan McElroy Montanari’s My Dog’s a Chicken, Elizabeth Bluemle’s Dogs on the Bed, and Eileen Spinelli’s The Best Story. She lives in Switzerland.
