Deborah Garrison is the bestselling author of A Working Girl Can’t Win: And Other Poems and The Second Child: Poems. As a young person she worked on the editorial staff of The New Yorker; since 2000, she has been a book editor at Pantheon and Knopf, where she is editorial director of poetry. Her poems and prose pieces have appeared in The New Yorker, The Yale Review, Poets & Writers, and other publications. Originally from Ann Arbor, she has lived for many years in Montclair, New Jersey.
