Cuentan las crónicas que a finales del siglo VIII, en tiempos de guerra entre musulmanes y cristianos, el príncipe Mauregato escogía de entre las doncellas del reino a las más bellas para entregárselas al emir de Córdoba, Abderramán I, en el Tributo de las Cien Doncellas.

Así comienza la historia de Alana, hija de un jefe de clan astur y un guerrero visigodo, obligada a abandonar su castro para formar parte del harén del emir. Alana tendrá que hacer acopia de toda su imaginación y su valor para escapar de su cautiverio… ya que el camino de regreso al norte está plagado de peligros.
