1. What did you know about Aphrodite before reading this book? Did any of your preconceived notions or judgments change?
2. Aphrodite becomes involved with both of Hera’s sons, Hephaestus and Ares. How does Hera’s treatment of her sons influence the men they become? How does that influence manifest in their relationships with Aphrodite?
3. The other gods and goddesses are either confused by the attraction between Aphrodite and Ares or explicitly against it. Why? What about others’ personalities and provinces causes them to react so strongly to the union?
4. Are love and war opposites? In what ways are they similar? In what ways are they different?
