Daisy Ramona and her little brother spend the day riding their bikes through the park. They feed the birds, eat sweet and spicy fruit, and sing songs of strength in the safety of their vibrant immigrant neighborhood.
But Daisy Ramona knows there have been sad days, when the park was empty and neighbors were not safe.
Still, on this sunny day, the community is brave and full of joy, music, and new memories.
With tender text by award-winning author Isabel Quintero and illustrations by Caldecott Honoree Zeke Peña that capture the heart of a resilient community, Little Brother Leads the Way is a heartfelt reminder that the bonds that bring communities together are stronger than the things that attempt to tear them apart.
