Eleven-year-old Bug Goodfolke knows her family isn’t normal. Her father is an exiled fairy prince, her mother is a human lawyer who (literally) has eyes on the back of her head, and there’s a portal to Faerie in their home that’s strictly off limits. While Bug loves their in-between life, she can’t resist wondering about the magical world just on the other side.
So, when her older sister Vesper decides to sneak into Faerie to reconcile with their royal family, Bug follows. There, the sisters encounter a world of marvels, from flying aurora horses to a book wyrm with pages for scales, while also dodging mischief from their estranged uncle. As it turns out, families are tricky, fairy ones even more so, and soon Bug will have to make a choice that will change the fate of their family—and Faerie—forever.
