A few years pass and Mónica transitions from the relative safety of the city’s motels to the dangers of the streets and the Jungle, the most sordid and notorious corner of Tijuana. Exhausted and drained, and with their mother’s voice in their head, they decide to cut their losses and head home. The journey is hellish, but the homecoming is a blessing and a chance at a new beginning.
