KATHLEEN OLMSTEAD is the author of numerous children’s books, including many titles in the Welcome To picture book series about the US states, stories in the beloved Classic Starts series of abridged classics, as well as books on television. As an avid traveler and road-tripper, she and her husband have clocked hundreds of miles across numerous states, seeking out the unique and obscure attractions off the beaten track, always on the lookout for the weird and wonderful along the way.

ȦSA GILLAND is the illustrator of numerous children’s books, including A Grandma’s Magic and the Welcome To series of picture books about the US states. Her art has also appeared on stationery, textiles, and home decor. Ȧsa has lived in seven countries and loves to travel near and far with her two sons.
