Fresh off the Southwest Regional, The Vipers swim team is basking in the glow of a successful meet. Everybody except Julia. She couldn’t compete and it’s still bothering her. Just once she would like to know the feeling of getting a shiny medal around her neck.
Back in the water, she wants to keep training harder than ever, but a faulty pump in the aquatic center’s pool spells big problems for that plan. How can Julia keep swimming when the pool is going to be closed indefinitely for maintenance? Luckily Coach Marissa has some ideas to keep the Vipers in a competitive mood. She has something very special she wants to give to the MVP of this new dryland training program and Julia will do whatever it takes to win — including something she’s not proud of.
