Nix is a strange creature who arrives in the city on a day like any other. She is half-girl, half-animal, earning her the nickname Dog Skin[nd1] . She has trouble fitting in and commits one destructive act after another, dooming civilization with her rampages. Now everyone hates Dog Skin! But the era of beasts is beginning, and Nix can’t live with the guilt of destroying the world. To make amends, she wanders through the desert in search of the “Author,” also known as “aqueduct man,” to help her rewrite this terrible history.
