Virginia es profesora universitaria en Barcelona y ha construido un universo lleno de luz y de amor junto a su hija pequeña. Nada más cabe en esa vida perfecta hasta que irrumpe de repente la tragedia. Ante la imposibilidad de encontrar palabras para hablar de lo innombrable, decide romper con todo y renunciar a expresar lo que siente en un lugar remoto, ajeno a todo lo hasta ahora conocido.

En China, Suyin está casada con un hombre al que no quiere. Frente a la violencia en casa, su pasión por la caligrafía y el trabajo en los campos de arroz junto a sus amigas se presentan como un refugio.

Un encuentro entre estas dos mujeres pertenecientes a mundos diferentes marca para ellas el inicio de la reparación de sus heridas, la promesa de un mañana en el que aprender a convivir con la pérdida sin dolor.

Virginia is a college professor in Barcelona and has built a universe of light and love with her little girl. There is room for nothing else in this perfect life until tragedy suddenly strikes. Faced with the impossibility to find the right words to utter the unspeakable, Virginia decides to break away from everything and quit trying to express what she feels in a far away place, unrelated to everything she has known till then.

In China, Suyin is married to a man who doesn’t love her. Dealing with violence at home, her passion for calligraphy and working on the rice fields with her friends become her refuge.

These two women from different worlds meet, and it is then they both begin repairing their wounds, delivering a promise for a future in which they learn to live painlessly with loss.
