Kouichi has narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on both himself and the egg he’s protecting as part of his bridal challenge, and learned that the plot to keep the egg from hatching involves the Featherlings. Prince Marteba, previously close-lipped about their family’s circumstances, now tells Kouichi the complicated truth, which turns everything on its head. With time running out, Kouichi makes one last attempt at getting the egg to hatch, but will it be too little, too late?
