Beneath the Carriage House

A twisty contemporary gothic set in Santa Barbara, California, about a woman who moves into a carriage house sheltering sinister family secrets

Single mom Devon White always believed her mother’s sister died in a car accident when they were teens, until her “dead” aunt introduces herself at her mother’s memorial, leading Devon to question everything she’s been told about her past. In financial straits after an unwanted divorce, Devon accepts her aunt’s invitation to move into the detached carriage house located on the White family estate—a much-needed lifeline amidst her ongoing custody dispute.

But Devon’s newfound happiness is short-lived. The sprawling Victorian mansion is falling apart, and a string of unsettling incidents—including unexplained blackouts, a dead crow, and a disquieting encounter with the mysterious tenant in the attic—leads Devon to question how safe she is in her new home.

With family secrets emerging from the darkness, Devon realizes her living situation is not only untenable but dangerous—and that her very life may be at stake.
