Couples overwhelmed by passion, but who cannot bear to live together. Husbands who flee to blend in with their gardens. Dead people who are not allowed to leave or do not want to leave. Twins in love with the same woman. Deceased women who, by pretending to be dead, end up driving their husbands straight to suicide. A husband and a lover who are cordial to each other out of habit. Drowned, nearly drowned, and marriages buried by a house. A dam that, when it loses water, reveals an ancient buried village, which serves as leitmotif for the entire collection.
