In this darkly atmospheric and deliciously addictive supernatural fantasy, a girl who can literally draw the dead back to life awakens more than she bargained for.
Allison Gray has the power to resurrect the dead through her artwork—all she has to do is draw them. If the portrait isn’t perfect, though, something much more sinister can slip through instead. Five years ago, the same night her father disappeared, Ally unleashed a monster and swore she would never draw the dead again.
That is, until Margot Gordon dies.
When Ally witnesses the accident that kills the most popular girl at school, she can’t just do nothing. But breaking her rule comes with a price, and before long, bodies start turning up with their hearts ripped out. Desperate for answers, Ally’s investigation brings her back into the orbit of Liam Holloway. The rich, reclusive boy who once broke her heart seems to know something about her dangerous powers, and maybe even her father’s disappearance.
The deeper Ally digs, the more she uncovers a web of ancient magic and hidden secrets that all lead back to a darkness lurking beneath Holloway Beach—and her own unwilling connection to it. Now she’ll need Liam’s help to hunt down the evil that’s quickly closing in. Because the darkness is spreading . . . and the girl she brought back might not be the same one who died.
