To save her family’s beach house, a struggling novelist must team up with the man who tore her heart to shreds—and is now tearing her town apart too—in this second chance summer romance from the bestselling author of Don’t Forget to Write.
Teacher and aspiring novelist Rachel Rosen has one last shot to prove she’s not a quitter—and it starts with saving the sun-soaked, memory-filled beach house her family is ready to sell. Armed with determination (and her feisty grandmother), Rachel heads to the Jersey shore for a summer of reinvention.
But her plan hits an unexpected snag in the form of Jake Zimmerman—the boy she once fell for, now the man threatening everything she loves. He tears down old houses to build the very McMansions she despises . . . and yet, he might be the only one who can help her save their shore house.
As renovation dust flies and long-buried feelings resurface, Rachel and Jake are forced into close quarters—and closer truths. Between late-night confessions, a growing social media following, and a sassy grandmother with a flair for chaos, Rachel finds herself falling for the one man she swore to resist. But with her future, her family home, and her heart all on the line, she’ll have to decide if risking it all is the only way to finally write her own happy ending.
