When Lex Luthor is elected President of the United States, Superman faces a threat unlike any he has encountered before. Protected by political power, public support, and the authority of his office, Luthor becomes an adversary who cannot be defeated through strength alone. As crises escalate and allies are tested, Superman must defend the ideals he represents in a world increasingly shaped by his greatest enemy.
As public trust erodes and alliances fracture, Superman and his allies are pushed to their limits confronting threats that grow increasingly dangerous, unpredictable, and far-reaching. What begins as a battle for truth becomes a cascade of escalating crises that test not only Superman’s power, but his belief in humanity itself.
Written by a generation of defining Superman creators including Jeph Loeb, Joe Kelly, and Greg Rucka, this collection captures a volatile era where power goes unchecked—and the consequences are felt across the entire DC Universe.
Collects Superman #160-168, Action Comics #769-777, Adventures of Superman #582-590, Superman: The Man of Steel #104-112, Superman: Emperor Joker #1, Superman: President Lex #1, Superman: Lex 2000 #1, Superman: Return to Krypton #1, President Luthor Secret Files and Origins #1, and Detective Comics #756.
